“I’ve Pretty Much Never Played Guitar Before” is an entry-level course for adult beginners. If you have a guitar sitting in a case underneath your bed that you’ve always wanted to play but have felt too intimidated to pick up because you never took lessons (except, perhaps, that one time your uncle taught you how to play a D chord and Smoke on the Water, 15 years ago), this is the course for you. We’ll be starting at square one, learning how to properly tune and hold the guitar, working our way through familiar melodies, classic rock riffs, and campfire sing-a-longs!
Topics Covered Include:
Guitar fundamentals (parts of the guitar, tuning, string names, etc.)
Basic left hand/right hand technique and correct posture
How to read tablature
How to read chord diagrams
How to read lead sheets
The 8 basic open position chords (C, D, Dm, E, Em, A, Am, G)
An Intro to barre chords (F)
Strum patterns
Power chords
Basic musical vocabulary
Learn over 20 songs!
